   While I understand the motivation behind this campaign I can't help but cringe at the idea that as a society we reached the point where we encourage people to isolate themselves in their bubble (where they listen to the messages streamed from our tech oligarchs?)

     @chrisamaphone I expect the vast majority of music/movies/videos/podcasts/audiobooks people listen to was downloaded or streamed from one of the handful of really large tech corporations, yes

     @monnier (this is a salient subject for me because I the issue with people listening to things on the train sans headphones has become really intolerable to me here… i feel that some kind of basic transit etiquette has failed to be passed down)

     @monnier I think it means "if you are considering listening to audio from your phone's speaker, use headphones instead", not "if you are considering striking up a conversation with a stranger, use headphones instead".
