How is it so difficult to work out how to draw a simple square in #GIMP - There's not many things I miss about Windows but #PaintDotNet is one of them. So much easier to use than GIMP.

I'm now getting customers asking me how they can make their business #OnlineSafetyAct (UK) compliant.
These are small businesses who don't have any kind of forum or customer to customer interaction. Grrr.

I've just noticed, it seems like #Mastodon has overtaken #RSS for my needs. I had not looked at my RSS reader for ages, then did - and noticed that almost everything I had already seen via the sources here (looking at you @ispreview, @aaisp and others! Thanks for being here.)

@tek great work. It's such a benefit for users to feel comfortable asking what they may feel is a stupid question without the fear of being berated. Those few seconds answering something simple (even many times) may save you, them and the company many hours or a horrible hack had they been afraid to ask.

@GossiTheDog thought the razer one was already known about. Or maybe I'm thinking incorrectly and it was HP input device drivers with similar flaws.

I was called to a job yesterday.. "they just cut through their internet cable while redecorating, both ends of the cable are accessible, they just need rejoining."

Nobody told me one end was a ~100pair (200 wires) and had been cut almost back to the wall.
Needless to say.. I couldn't repair their internet, without having engineering access to put a tone on the line from the exchange I had no hope of guessing which pair it should have been connected to 😭.

I hate that my paid for enterprise account on #Microsoft #Office365 is part of A/B testing. The screen I get when adding calendar entries has different form fields randomly, it is really jarring.

I miss the days of having software on a computer. This software never changed or went wrong unless you broke it or upgraded it. All these web services change and break constantly ;(

The Fediverse and @GossiTheDog has just helped me do my job better. Outsourced supplier has just asked me to install #ConnectWise. If it were not for the recent posts by #CyberSecurity people on here; I wouldn't be aware of the recent issues so wouldn't be checking with the supplier that their ConnectWise setup is up to date!
