@anarchopunk_girl it also rejects the human value of the elderly, the sick, and the disabled. It's horrible they are held in contempt by the right because they don't "produce surplus value" for capitalist owners. It also seems so when they are dismissed by some in the left for not being "actively working" working class.

@georgetakei incidentally almost all countries today have a voting age of 18. Some have it lower. Only UAE, that "bastion" of democracy, has 25.

@AnarchoNinaWrites there are no "good" fascists, certainly, and yes, the enemy of my enemy may still be a shitty person entirely on their own. Even trying to have one deal with an enemy that is your enemy does not mean they won't do so in a terrible and fascist way, like using it as an oppertunity to start an awful war or something... sometimes you do have to relearn these painful lessons the hard way, though.

@big_louse this I actually can relate to as well. I felt that way about my time in the Venezuela of Chavez. But everyone remembers their "first" revolution fondly, I suppose ;).

@big_louse while I was trying to take down Erik Prince I often got support from people who were intel community insiders going rogue and wanting him to go too. Of course the enemy of your enemy is not your friend, but it did get me access to some "interesting" resources and enabled me to put boots on the ground, so to speak. It has some real consequences, though, too.

@big_louse there even was apparently an insider cia civil war around Erik Prince at the time, as I learned from from the mercenary journalist Robert Young Pelton. Sadly, the anti-Prince faction was lead by that truly terrible woman who somehow also became their director for a time, Gina Haspel.

@big_louse oh, I can definitively answer other curious questions that the media tried avoiding, like how Muller learned Prince's testimony before congress was perjurous, what really happened in the Seychelles, how Jordanian government learned Prince was mulling arms to General Haftar for the CIA what the Jordan coup was really about, what the Ethiopian civil war was really about, and how Russian planes so easily vanished over the western Ukraine.

@clacke @array @a13cui for me, I liked Python the language, but hated the deployment model and breaking changes. To get consistent development and production you often had to turn to virtual environments and could not depend on the "system" python. This was especially true when many distros still bundled python2 but everything needed to be in python3 as demanded by real world users. Ruby bundler felt cleaner than that, and ruby could be monkey-patched with language feature backports.
