"Why The Ocean Cleanup Hasn’t Solved the Plastic Pollution Crisis"

📍 Seoul, South Korea

I can't help but notice I find more rude people here in South Korea than in Japan. Especially older people. Elders. Multiple times I have seen them rush into a metro train without letting others exit first.

Several other small things I have not encountered in my 4 trips to Japan.

@dansup Thanks for reaching out.

Here's my setup and the issues I had:

- I had installed Pixelfed in the same Ubuntu system as I have Mastodon (both from source, no docker)
- I used 2 different domains
- It seems Redis had conflicts (it wiped feeds from Mastodon lists randomly), users suggested having 2 instances for Redis.
- I wasn't able to follow my account from Mastodon. I found it in Mastodon but I got no updates when posting on Pixelfed. Horizon dashboard showed all success, no failure.

Thinking about self-hosting a private instance of https://pixelfed.org for myself :blobcatthinking: 📸

I would love to ditch instagram entirely, but I do have friends and family there I like to keep in touch with 😔

✅ I have installed a Pixelfed instance on my server 😏 🎉

I will try to import Instagram content into it before sharing the URL with you. A blank profile isn't very exciting 📸 😁

I have given up on self-hosting #Pixelfed ❌

I will share photos here with this Mastodon account. Easier, done ✅

@sophie Can't we just turn on federation and everybody lives in their own instance but can chat with each other?

Is this too much to ask? 😢

📺 I'm halfway into the Deadpool & Wolverine movie and I'm cracking up 😂

Breaking the 4th wall on every dialog. Even Chris Evans has a cameo, just awesome 💯

Have you watched it?

@BeAware Dissapointed. Thank you for the lengthy update.

I guess I should have known better they would never let us consume their content for free.

What's the status of Threads federating? :mastodon:

Haven't read from this for a few months 🤔

Is it still opt-in for them? Meaning, we'll probably never be able to follow those unaware of the switch?

@BeAware 🗑️ 🙈 ⚾

⚾ It doesn't seem the #RedSox :boston_redsox: will be drizzling any ketchup after this series... 🍅

8-0 against the #Padres in the 5th 🙄

@BeAware Thank you for sharing my blog post!

Look at this cute little thing 🤩

It emulates a dozen consoles with hundreds of games (already included).

Will start by rocking some old Pokemon games :ablobcatbongo:

If you're interested, it's called: ANBERNIC RG35XX Plus.

@null Thank you for sharing your experience, I wish they would just do ActivityPub and be done with the whole protocol drama.

I sort of get why they force you to use their domain, but then... why would anybody host that rather than ActivityPub-supported backend such as Mastodon?

The user base?

#Anime Review: Jigokuraku (Season 1)

⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I expected something different, the animation is great but skyrockets in terms of fantasy…

I'm loving @Tusky so much that I went ahead and translated, as well as approved, a bunch of texts for Spanish and Catalan

@ruud I simply use the web app in advanced view with Firefox.

Works well, has push notifications and all.

What are you missing from it that you need a dedicated app?
