@AnnaAnthro I hope so too ๐ฅด. People are literally begging to see more of him on Weibo. I hope the platforms push aside their obsession over traffic stars and get true talent for once.
@AnnaAnthro according to industry insiders, he has already caught the attention of bigwigs so I think he will get more offers in the future. It's generally perceived that his dramas tend to be very cost effective. Meaning low budget, but high budget results. What platform doesn't want that? Lol
@AnnaAnthro it's kinda upsetting that actors like her get promoted so much and real talents like Liu Xueyi gets the shitty scripts. It makes me a little depressed sometimes ๐
@AnnaAnthro she is firmly in idoland. Not many in china consider her a serious actors. I personally don't watch her as I don't think she can act. The reason why this drama did well was because it fits her image and persona. Anything out of it, she fails spectacularly
@AnnaAnthro don't know really but Douban doesn't like idol dramas in general. But from what I can see Eastern Fantasy is beloved in China tho some complained it fell apart in the last half. I think one thing is Esther Yu has a huge fan base, so....
#SnowyNightTimelessLove is not for the casual cdrama viewer who wants romance, fluffy CP moments. I don't consider this #cdrama a romance. Its English name does it a disservice. The original Chinese title isย ไธๅค้ช which simply means "Seven Nights of Snow". The drama is a melancholic, deeply philosophical #wuxia tale about the impermanence of life and the Buddhist belief that attachment brings about suffering. Its the kind of drama that you need to look beneath the surface to appreciate.
Still loving #SnowyNightTimelessLove. Old time, wuxia vibe. Been a long time since I watched anything like it ๐ Ep 14 now. I know people think Huo Zhanbai's repetitive injuries tedious, but to me it serves an important purpose in emphasising his obsession with getting a cure for his junior sister's son and also serves as a way for him to get closer to the icy and aloof Ziye, who would never get to know him otherwise.
One think not super good with me is that I am an extremely lazy cook. So, I will do everything I can to avoid processing the vegetables I grow. Since I will be heading off to Penang soon, it was very important to harvest my veges before I go ๐. I still have lots more and I hope to give it to my neighbours.
@evaack what I love is that it speeds up the process significantly. I used to write my brain dumps, and that took time and my hands could not keep up with the speed of my mind. And then figuring out the mess took a lot of time too. With this you can just cut to the chase and edit chatgpts output if you need to.
@jenxi yea I have a Pleco add on that actually tells me how the character evolved, but I always seem to prefer weird stories to memorise the character lol
Finally completed this monster of a #KillMeLoveMe review. It is, to date, the longest review, drama recap and analysis I've ever done. This is actually a very polarising drama. Reviewers like AvenueX outright said "don't bother" with the drama; many were angry Murong Jinghe wasn't as dark and toxic as his novel counterpart. But I loved this drama so much ... well except for massive parts of the script. So you can say that I have very complex feelings about it. ;D
One strategy that I spotted on Youtube that is actually really useful for the ADHD chaotic mind is this: a) Record your rambling thoughts b) Input the transcript into ChatGPT c) Ask ChatGPT to create a task list from it/summarise the thoughts
@Sollenbum I'm mildly enthusiastic as it seems to be xianxia made for people who are older (read, above teenage years lol) like Legend of Shen Li. I have no hope however that the story will stay coherent or they won't eff up the ending lol
