Even in the best work places, it seems like the messaging is "you *can* stay home when sick"

It really needs to shift to "you *must/should* stay home when sick"

Watching sickness rip through my work, causing a lot of time out, and it's entirely unnecessary. We've learned nothing at all from the last 4 years

@thomasfuchs never been diagnosed with ADHD, but I really struggle with this. I bought a cheap non smartwatch that has built in timers for 1,3,5,10,15, and 30 minutes. If I know I need to do something and can't get myself going I pick a time (often just 3 or 5 minutes) and tell myself I only have to work on it that long, and set the timer

Usually, I end up finishing it, or at least getting it started enough so that coming back to it isn't as big a block

@thomasfuchs I think for me the mental block is often something like "I don't know how long this will take, could be HOURS" 😭 - so giving myself permission to only look at if for 3 minutes is an easier ask than asking myself to potentially finish the task

It's hard to imagine a more visible threat to freedom than to restrict the clothing we wear based on the (presumed or imagined) genitals we have, yet here we are. Or to say that we can be "obscene" while being fully covered (as women wearing trousers were not that long ago)

Hundreds of years of progress rolled back in an instant

This is so alarming and some people are treating it as a joke still

I'm terrified for the future
