WHAT ARE YOU USING TO REPLACE #REDDIT ??

I've been a long time Reddit user but they've pushed me over the edge and it's time to walk away but finding a replacement has been very difficult.

I have some issues with the #Lemmy platform developers but am looking for some input from folks in the #Fediverse

The biggest problem, as I understand it, is that he and Larry Ellison (another insane nut) hold the majority of the stock so the board can't get rid of him like they need to do.

He needs to get booted out of management of #Tesla and #SpaceX or both of them are going down despite the fact that muskrat has nothing to do with the innovation in either company but the people who are doing it are suffering

I really want to be done with Reddit like I am with the bird site but the alternative in #KBIN just isn't working --- the other alternative #Lemmy is run by some unsavory characters so I'm not going there....

Don't they depend on FCC approvals and licenses to air in the United States?

This sounds like something citizens should alert them about and demand them step in.

I saw someone complaining that they had signed up for an instance and that people were posting things unrelated to what the instance was primarily about.

My response was that it is similar to creating a list of people that like a TV show you like. You realize they're not going to exclusively post about it and you either deal or only follow hashtags so you can ignore anything else.

I guess an instance could demand users only speak about one thing but people aren't built that way

The damage done to the core infrastructure of Twitter will cost billions to repair and restore. Billions.

Rehire large numbers of talented people, reinstate processes and procedures as well as undo changes to code… good luck there.

On top of that the brand damage is severe.

Like MySpace, someone will buy the corpse for a few million but it will never come back to it’s almost profitable pre-musk statute. It wasn’t profitable before and not it’s REALLY not profitable
