    @mac84tv Poor guy, it’s a terrible thing to go through. A lot of people are in terrible situations now.

    @inthehands Systemic racism has created chasms in socioeconomic standing and I swear that it benefits fewer than what they think.

    To make a giant tangent. Imho, and I’m just a random person on the internet with no clout or credentials, I think that UBI and guaranteed healthcare for everyone that won’t ruin people could have potentially the biggest impact.

    Systemic racism needs power to continue, and taking that power away would be a good thing. For all of us.

    @inthehands Wish you weren’t right:(

    I get wanting to feel safe. So do I, more than most. Police violence and weapons have never made me feel safe though.

    Feels like almost everyone is racist these days:( Far too many seem to think their racism is ok, and everyone else’s is bad. Imho all racism is just bad. It’s energy we could use better, and racism makes me feel unsafe.

    @inthehands D/DFL truly feels like far too wide of a range. In a non two party situation they would have been several different parties.

    But even with that, even with that range, wanting the police to be a paramilitary force with no consequences feels out of character and straight out of GOP.

    American politics is just so crazy to me, even after 15 years here. I’m just happy to see Harris/Walz running. That actually makes sense to me.

    @inthehands What the hell has gone wrong? Aren’t we suppose to be better than Texas here?

    I genuinely don’t get why people vote these people in and why does DFL run them? Who gains from this?

    I’d expect this from the mob or a gang, but it seems like violence is their only way to resolve conflicts, which is the opposite of what they should be up to.

    @goatsarah @atomicpoet My money is always on Paganini. He had it all. He changed music forever (very very few has), he was an extreme virtuoso, he composed, he had people fainting at his shows, pretty sure he’s the origin of violins + devil = selling your soul, and the Pope refused to let him be buried.

    He was as metal as anyone in my book.

    @inthehands Funny you should say that, because the first I thought I had was that if it’s combined with voice commands, there are going to be a lot of people say “show me that porn I watched” near other people’s computers…

    @goatsarah They both probably draw from similar sources in many ways. I’d be surprised if there aren’t some Twilight Zone episode or similar around.

    And while sharing a lot, they also are by all means distinct. Does feel like a copy, just shared inspiration. Which is good.

    That said, Fallout was the spiritual successor to Wasteland, which isn’t a vault thing but more generic post apocalyptic. I still have my C64 original :)

    @inthehands I feel like I’m seeing less and less mosquitos each year.

    I mean I hate them. BUT I do not like the ecosystem falling apart.

    (Also in MN. I remember up north being horrific in terms of mosquitos. But they seem almost gone in the twin cities now.)

    @inthehands I feel that both education and corporate (and I guess OSS as well) tends to be bad at building up vs seeing everything as competition.

    It’s amazing what people can learn and achieve when they are supported and encouraged. Competing simply breeds competitors.

    @goatsarah @zoe I wonder how my ears would accept the arcade version. Spent a fair amount of my childhood playing the C64 version :)

    @goatsarah @SinclairSpeccy It’s more that everyone here acts like a damn used car salesman:(

    That we can grow bone back at all is pretty cool. Just wish I could have been around when we finally reach Star Trek medical treatments.

    @SinclairSpeccy @goatsarah Yikes!

    Here everything is max speed or won’t get done. I had my gallbladder out in less than two weeks and a crown in less than two weeks (from cracked tooth to done).

    It’s terrifying how quick things can go.

    @goatsarah @SinclairSpeccy The bestest of best of lucks on that one!

    Regrowing teeth can’t come soon enough. In fact regenerative medicine should be funded so so much more in general. So very much more.

    @goatsarah I’m more worried about the rich. Bands getting rich always turns the same way. Not that I ever enjoyed muse much, but I’ve seen other bands I’ve enjoyed go to the same way.

    Corporate greed is good, is a shit genre.
