    @lanodan Around 1 in 1000 people are born with 6 fingers, some forms of polydactyl are actually a dominant trait. Unfortunately it gets treated like an abnormality and the sixth finger is often removed, even if it would be fully functional, although sometimes the extra finger ends up being useless or looks quite odd.

    @Moon The amount of disabled people I know who struggled with getting government assistance or even just school or work accomodations is saddening. powerful. The stories I have personally been told about dealing with both public and private institutions while being poor or disabled are saddening. I wouldn't be surprised if we are spending more on making our systems complicated and impossible to navigate than we spend on the actual people who use them.

    living in the US I will say multiple things:
    - I hate driving an SUV
    - I hate driving around other SUVs
    - It is getting harder and harder to find a normal car, especially if you want something like 4WD
    - People in the US are now ditching SUVs in favor of extended cab pickup trucks to use as their daily driver
    - I hate driving around pickup trucks even more, they're the ones with the drivers who run red lights, run you off the road, etc the most
    - Somehow people who buy these to daily drive still complain about how much it costs to fill their tank

    I hate living in a place where driving is necessary

    @lebronjames75 @augustus @augustus Ik Tchaikovsky and Chopin were very likely gay, Handel never had a lover as far as we know so he could've just been too involved in his music to care or have time for a relationship, or asexual. People speculate about him being gay but the only real evidence is that he hung around gay people.

    Also consider making your own instance or joining a smaller one instead of flocking to gigantic instances, slowly centralizing the network and destroying its purpose.

    Also also, Mastodon is not the only software that federates microblogging, Pleroma, its forks, Misskey, and others exist and are cool.
