Stealing is easy and applying for social services is a downright soul-crushing experience.

@Moon so would be thieves walk up to the kiosk and type in “I’m thinking about stealing boxes of Sudafed.” And get connected to some kind of counseling?

@Moon in b4 the kiosks are just iPads in a rugged case which are stolen immediately even though they will be useless due to icloud lock

@Moon when i applied for a total of 9 months of social welfare it was the most mentally taxing exercise
it was so humiliating and downgrading, and honestly the workers treat you so two-facedly as well.
saying something like "i want to be on welfare for 6 months, and then only after that look for a job" is a big no no
well thats what im gonna do im not NOT gonna do that?!?!?
and then NOT finding a job for a month after that... despite looking AND going to interviews AND having proof of all that AND having conditions attempted to force on me that are simply IMPOSSIBLE to fulfill and not wanna kill myself (50+ hour workweeks fuck you, shift work that changes +8 hours every week fuck you, fish cleaning line work thats minimum wage BUT paid based on performance, so realistically the first 2-3 months would be BELOW minimum wage fuck you, and more!)
and then getting berated by the social worker for turning down those "great offers for a educationless skillless young person like you are, that's the best you'll get", fuck you 2x whats wrong with you you fucking soviet cuck faggot FUCKS, your lucky your 60+ you fucking social worker asswipe
god i hate the soviet mentality so much
and i wish i was an asshole, and not apologetic to those people in retrospect, they dont emotionally deserve that government social worker job

@azrez For a short amount of time I needed to be on assistance and trying to get public assistance was a far worse experience than the worst job I have ever had.

@Moon The amount of disabled people I know who struggled with getting government assistance or even just school or work accomodations is saddening. powerful. The stories I have personally been told about dealing with both public and private institutions while being poor or disabled are saddening. I wouldn't be surprised if we are spending more on making our systems complicated and impossible to navigate than we spend on the actual people who use them.
