    but it's more than the perp being an illegal immigrant. Sanctuary cities always pretend to be superior and wonderful and warm and welcoming and protecting. Yet they always seem to fail in protecting their own. Homeless people get ignored, while aggressive illegal immigrants get everything. struggling families are being cut off from benefits for the sake of illegal immigrants. And then this horror. Where is the compassion and safety now?

    Sara, 10, had suffered dozens of injuries, including bruising, burns and broken bones when her body was found in an upstairs bedroom on a bottom bunk bed in her home in Woking, Surrey.

    The Old Bailey heard she had been beaten with objects, strangled, tied up, burnt with an iron and even bitten in the weeks before her death.

    In an eight-and-a-half minute phone call played to jurors, minicab driver Sharif, 42, was heard crying before he told the operator: "I've killed my daughter".

    He also said: "I legally punished her, and she died," adding "she was naughty", and: "I beat her up, it wasn't my intention to kill her, but I beat her up too much".

    New research suggests that exposure to plastic could be contributing to obesity, with thousands of chemicals in items made from the material unknown.

    What happened?
    A study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology found over 55,000 types of chemicals present in common plastic products, and only 11 of those compounds were able to be identified, as detailed by Earth Day.

    All of the known chemicals, however, have been linked to changes in metabolism. Items examined by scientists include plastic wrap, shampoo bottles, kids bath sponges, and coffee cup lids.

    They also believe that many of the unidentifiable compounds in plastic could be endocrine-disrupting chemicals, or EDCs, which are thought to affect appetite and increase the storage of fat, per Earth Day.
