@HebrideanHecate At my job we have about folks with ADHD/ADD. Only 2 get drugs for it. The other 3 aren’t eligible for pills aka they don’t have adhd. What they do have is the ability to generate money in the scheme the government set up that if a company hires a person with a disability they don’t have to pay them as much money.

This resulted in companies looking for “disabled” folk a lot. Hence if you give more people a stamp it more likely they get hired into non existent jobs but it looks like you as a country are doing really well. Fuck it all.

@HebrideanHecate I know of 2 companies who sell bs but earn money due to getting paid for hiring “disabled” folk. It’s a very depressing situation and just not maintainable long term. A major collapse is inevitable some day.

    The hogwash that is psychiatry.

In 1973, healthy volunteers faked hallucinations to enter mental hospitals. Once inside, they acted normal, but doctors refused to let them leave. Normal behaviors like writing were diagnosed as "symptoms." The only people who realized they were sane were the actual patients.

Rosenhan (1973) Experiment – ‘On being sane in insane places’
      from Angel E. Navidad
The Rosenhan study in 1973 suggested that psychiatric diagnoses are often subjective and unreliable. Rosenhan and his associates feigned hallucinations to get admitted to mental hospitals but acted normally afterward. Despite this, they were held for significant periods and treated as if they were genuinely mentally ill. The study highlighted issues with the validity of psychiatric diagnosis and the stigma attached to mental illness.

@KeepTakingTheSoma Don't be mistaken. It happens in the private sector as well. Many companies get bonussen (one way or another - can be the government hire them for a big job if they have x% of employees from a particular demographic) for hiring certain folk, who then can't do anything and are just there bumming around. It can be very lucrative to have them around like that.

Raja Zulqurnean, 43, was convicted with seven other men of south-Asian backgrounds who were found to have sexually abused the victim since she was 13.
