I ignored the books for years because I thought they sounded too corny. They're not. They're amazing.
An autistic author turning the "autistic people are robots" trope on its head, with a level of social commentary approaching Pratchett.

Liked the book, looking forward to the movie.

"Come sit by the fire, child, and I will tell you a story of joy, suffering, and human folly."

I'm not convinced it's cheaper.
It's just the weaponisation of "everyone else's jobs are easier than mine".

Ended up next to the translator for a meetup between two companies at the last day's social evening meal once. He said he usually asked to have jokes presubmitted so he could actually provide a funny translation.
For unprepared jokes he said he'd usually go "a joke, about this level of funny".

Not convinced. If anything, C is very detached from the underlying hw (while simultaneously being a high-level assembler)? Hence all the UB.
Even x86 managed to migrate ABI from "everything is on the stack" to err, "no, actually, registers are worth paying for".

My laptop lid only opens when the Lenovo firmware bugs out on boot. Then it shuts again.
But yes, I share a downsized window, not the whole 37.5” desktop.

I've also seen its live suggestions trying to introduce demeaning or aggressive language.

I didn't go to Linkedin to look for it. I searched the name on google, clicked the "images" tab, and the linkedin post was the fourth hit.
@clacke
Somewhat horriffically, I think the original might be on linkedin:

It's definitely a universal thing. And I definitely experienced it and heard it talked about growing up in Sweden.
Although if you don't experience it yourself you might not have picked up the cues of others experiencing it. And filtered it when seen in media.
Pee shivers too, although that probably falls under "probably not discussed in polite company" for 1980s Sweden.

Copper bottomed stainless?
Otherwise, as mentioned by someone else, there are much better and more durable non-stick surfaces than teflon paint these days. Look for kit marked dishwasher safe :)
@clacke
Hmm, maybe I have false memories. I agree that was the norm on VHS, but I think DVDs sometimes had upcoming (at time of release) ones.
@clacke
Or rent one. Or buy one.

Pretty sure there are plenty of venoms that won't function as poisons because the digestive process neutralises them before they can do harm.
Bet there are fewer poisons that won't work as venoms though.

While I always prefer subtitles, including for the language the audio is in, dubbing when done well is a proper artform. It's like 4D poetry.

Copied and mistranslated.
@clacke
Of course, that was a play on "only the good die young",
