   I don't experience brain freeze, nor piss shivers. Are they cultural traits or am I physiologically different?

     @jxself I eat/drink freezing-temperature things sometimes and they may give me a hickup if it's rapid enough, or sometimes a cool forehead.

     What fascinates me is that these things are treated as universal experiences in US media, but growing up in Sweden I never heard of them and I never experienced them.

Fortunately they're short-lived.

     It's definitely a universal thing. And I definitely experienced it and heard it talked about growing up in Sweden.

     Although if you don't experience it yourself you might not have picked up the cues of others experiencing it. And filtered it when seen in media.

     Pee shivers too, although that probably falls under "probably not discussed in polite company" for 1980s Sweden.
