@kilroy_was_here ah, got it. Yeah, those are dangerous situations and it's best to avoid them. In my truck, the 7100 remote head sits on a movable goose neck but is basically right next to the air conditioning controls and I don't touch the VFO. I just leave it on two repeaters and the touchscreen switches between them at the corners so I don't need to look. The mic sits in a cup holder. So everything is within a no-look reach.

@kilroy_was_here what were these close calls you mention? I keep a mobile hooked up in the truck in part so I have it on hand for going up into the mountains. Easy to lose cellular up there.

@kilroy_was_here The 7100 is an amazing rig. I loved it so much, in fact, that, I bought one for my lab and one for my truck, and it's versatile enough to be perfect in both situations.

@hackaday Homeboy here probably couldn't imagine how his little revolution changed the lives of me and countless others. For years, the happiest day of the month was the one where I got my 3*2*1 Contact magazine and messed with the BASIC listing in it. So many lives touched by an idea whose time had come.

@millihertz I cannot imagine a language better suited to cut my teeth on. Even its more obvious limitations seems almost purpose built to become object lessons in why other languages are as they are. I weep that children are not still taught on it.
