#software to me is simply a tool to solve a problem. mostly my own problems. like many, problem-sets are often unique and don't have a one-size-fits-all.
one project in particular was me taking what i learned from running #deltachat relays and contributing upstream and making a very niche lean single-binary relay that's compatible with upstream. why? because i wanted to and i felt upstream was too many moving parts and decisions that don't align with what i want to be working on.
as soon as i released the binary to a few trusted testers the feedback was, "this is great, but upstream does this, or you should make it more scale-proof (noting that 70rps was too slow) for the community"
not one to be reactive, i thought about it for a few days. then decide no, i'm not changing anything. i built this for fun and learning, not for a community.
once i release this, the community is free to do with it whatever they like. fork it, light it on fire, crochet jorts, whatevs.
maybe this would have been a good paule f*ck you pay me situation. i donno anymore.
and when one #chess game on #deltachat pumps the brakes, i work with #ai to improve my game. reverse-blueprinted #webxdc#chatmail and clients into #skills specific to my use case. spending time developing with the team in the past taught me domain knowledge to help improve agents. #agents aren't coming to deltachat and #chatmail. they're already here.
now let's make it easier for you to talk to your agents via deltachat.
i made a fork of the excellent https://github.com/Simon-Laux/hermes-deltachat-platform by a good guy that works a bit differently and will be referenced in an upcoming single binary relay ive been developing for several months.
run #hermes locally with a deltachat relay that you control and can run locally with baked in tunneling and auto-dns/tls. this is a great platform for skynet.
@Death showup on zoom have a meeting. get up real quick to adjust your window shade. all of a sudden a 2' rubber strapon shows up. she'll muscle the fvck up real fast.
principal sprint alloc: [20pt] sprint end: 07/31/26 current cycle count: [70pt] boss: go play with your homelab through end of the week, just be available. you're a psychopath.
@WizardOfDocs that'd be great to get her started. i'm technical and this wouldn't be too much for me to manage. just want to be sure she'll use it before committing. infrastructure/code is standing by.
recently i starred playing #chess again. i was thinking about how ive played in the past in person, via #email and in #irc rooms in the past. thanks to #webxdc playing chess on #deltachat / #arcanechat on a #chatmail relay is trivial.
#e2ee#gaming sounds pretty #cozy right now. started a small group for people to learn. this is but just a sample of what you can do given a stable protocol.
