   I report to the CFO. Today I sent a question to her and the CEO, and she said it "doesn't look great" that I'm sending him questions without running them by her first. To which I responded, "Sorry, I thought we had an open door policy."
   
   ... something tells me that's not stinging her as harshly as I'd like it to. I fear I am finding myself working under an insecure overcompensating female again.

     I am CFO reporting to a board (thankfully not the director). I work with a director who is an insecure overcompensating female. It is tiresome. I'll light some sage for you.

     @jae The conversation quickly pivoted to how many operational folks I've spoke with in the firm feel our CEO does not give a shit about operations being properly tooled or staffed. All he cares about is the IT department meeting SLAs, and damn the man-hours needed to meet them since we're all salaried anyway. Hell, our retention rate is good, so nothing's broken, right? Just don't look at our accrued PTO balances...

     @benis_redux @pwm @Death yeah I worked for a while at wal mart and at a gas station. while I think the time was mostly wasted-- the paycheck wasn't hardly worth the time-- the low level coworkers weren't at all the worst part
