Yesterday I discovered I’d miscalculated and would be out of bread this morning for breakfast, so on the way home from the office I bought cheap croissants and a punnet of raspberries to make white choc and raspberry bread ‘n’butter pudding for dessert, which of course meant I had some for breakfast this morning 😁

Hmm, those of you who have been around long enough might recognise this plan as flawed. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10-31/waroona-shire-suggests-blowing-up-dead-whale-to-save-money/105954240
Although, they are suggesting towing it out to sea first, so maybe they have learnt something.

Today, I’ve made a medieval fruit pie. (This one is apples and pears, with raisins, figs and a few dates).
Based on a recipe from A Forme of Cury (dated 1390), although the "coffin" (pastry case) might be of a later date.

Looks simple, lots of work though. (also filled the dishwasher with all the bowls and equipment).

@troberts and they have a nasty bite. Which can get infected really easily.
Don't ask how I know.

Late afternoon excitement at work. Lea smelt smoke. We went to investigate, and I found a Lenovo 90W power brick in our workroom that was extremely hot, and smelly.
Now disposed of.

We’ve set off for the trek home, well sorta. Stopped to charge nearby, but may bail on this one soon as it’s quite slow.

Despite parking next to another Mini, 20kW is just too slow. We’ve moved, ironically, to a Toyota dealership and are charging there.

Am now installing a new computer (conveniently bought before we arrived) and because the monitor on the old one was a 15” VGA only one, we’ve been down the road to buy a cheap 24” one that does HDMI.
