I have adult Meccano (aka Ikea furniture).

Late afternoon excitement at work. Lea smelt smoke. We went to investigate, and I found a Lenovo 90W power brick in our workroom that was extremely hot, and smelly.

Now disposed of.

We’ve set off for the trek home, well sorta. Stopped to charge nearby, but may bail on this one soon as it’s quite slow.

Oh no! A BMW has turned up to charge and now our charge speed has halved.

Despite parking next to another Mini, 20kW is just too slow. We’ve moved, ironically, to a Toyota dealership and are charging there.

Whoot! BMW has left. Back to 49kW charging.

Am now installing a new computer (conveniently bought before we arrived) and because the monitor on the old one was a 15” VGA only one, we’ve been down the road to buy a cheap 24” one that does HDMI.

We've arrived in Sydney, done the pleasantries, and predictably, I have been drawn in to computer touching for my father--in-law.

Tactical failure 20+ years ago when I admitted I touch computers professionally.

Not content with the amount of frustration experienced today, I am revisiting a perl script I wrote 10 years ago to make some modifications.

@valhalla Got a drill? Could make one. Just need a sheet of metal of the appropriate size, ruler, centre punch (and hammer), and enough time to drill all the holes.
