@Triskerslake @piggo @david oh, but it was worse than that. I have an… odd sense of smell - a lot of things i miss. Walking through the office, i thought “thats a weird perfume someone is wearing”. Walking back through the office, i thought “im not sure thats perfume”.
“Guys, do you smell smoke?”
They all looked at me with horror (no one wants to hear that!!) then said “No”
No, over here, i said, and David got up to look.
Yes, he said, smoke, and i said Phew!
and then we tracked it down :)

@piggo @david I think I'd be quite alarmed to find something like that. I am pathologically conditioned to turning things off when not in use. My father used to be a lighthouse keeper back in the UK and I remember him going around switching everything off when his watch was over. Those were the days of paraffin lights and oil burners.

@Triskerslake @david there's nothing to blow up in these, unlike batteries, if it's not on fire, just take it outside and let it cool down -

Late afternoon excitement at work. Lea smelt smoke. We went to investigate, and I found a Lenovo 90W power brick in our workroom that was extremely hot, and smelly.
Now disposed of.
