There's a much larger chance of having curl or wget installed.

I've heard that name before - maybe 20 years ago? Slashdot, if I'm not mistaken.

"Done my own research" usually means rejected established research and done their own reading of right-wing websites.

But I'm sure you already knew that.

Even simpler: Look at the DNT http header.

Only fall back to cookie notices when the browser doesn't send it.

It was interesting how quickly Mozilla deprecated the DNT header after an EU court ruled that yes, it is a valid answer.

That's not how most people are going to encounter it.

Just like most people are not node.js developers, our encounters with Javascript is enshittifying the browsing experience (ads, popups, broken scrollbars).

No, Go code is used for regular programs, where you install what you want and don't install adware. Not in a web browser, where it's either on or off.

I take it you've never seen how much advertisers will do to make it hard to avoid their ads?

If you ask me, WASMs only purpose is to make writing ad blocking rules virtually impossible.

That's surprising for a Pentium 60. My parents' Pentium 120 had the fan fall off an all that resulted in was a crash. Meanwhile, some 486 machines didn't have a heat sink at all - I mean I could literally see the 486 logo on the chip by looking though the hole where the cover plate for the second floppy drive was missing.

(Though maybe it was pure luck that I was using Linux when the fan fell off, and a crash while using Linux was so uncommon that I turned the computer off and grabbed a screwdriver. My Windows using brother didn't understand why I would do that, and not just reboot. So maybe the cpu would have been fried if he had been using the computer).
