On one instance i'm on, it's connected to the relay of tag push. So there it happens too.
So your admin WANTS to have it that way.
So you can, as a member of the instance, opt-out.
i wouldn't call it abuse, as it does what the admin of your instance wants.
And you can even opt-in, if your instance is not using the relay.

I think it's a beautiful service. But I do understand that it annoys you. i had the same feeding in the beginning.
Just opt-out if you don't like it.

So how else you want to push all the unknown services to the other instances? The tagpush.app and tags.pub help there.
To be honest: i wasn't aware that tags.pub uses also relays for subscription, see https://socialwebfoundation.org/2026/06/28/unsubscribing-tags-pub-from-open-registration-relays/ . I'm not sure when this was added , but now it's removed.
@evan - was this newly introduced (and now removed) or how did all the conversation started now and not like month ago? Thx for your feedback

Is there any reason, why some of the videos don't have a "more" (description) button?
Anything to do with landscape vs potrait videos? Or because there are hashtags in it?

As much as I'm happy when Pixelfed has the loops software, I would prefer to get a patch for some annoying bugs first.

@dansup , even I said it was my error, I have the fear there is a bigger issue .
i was having the same issues again.
I was investigating with my hoster @markus and we fear there is a #bug in #pixelfed.

In the admin setting I see 137MB used from 1GB.
I have made 253 posts.
I just downloaded a few pictures.
They are 50-200 KB big.
Many posts have more than 1 pic, so numbers look more or less okay.

Yesterday I was again not able to post again, so I was changing the max allowed limit from 1.05GB to 1.06 GB.

I was then asking @markus what he sees in the DB, and it says, I already have used 1104823.

So this is why it is failing. It's at least in the DB close to the limit.

Could this be, that there are the original files, which are still stored on the server or are calculated ?

Because the original files are big(ger), so ~1GB in original sizes is possible.

@dansup 100% this is also something which should maybe talked with the community.
I like the idea, but I hate the idea that 3rd parties need to implement something.

so yeah, that would be really bad.

so maybe rejecting is the wrong idea. maybe just making it unlisted/followers only?
