    @fiore idk the context but I'm taking this opportunity to mention that GNU was an MIT i.e. CIA front op to gain a de facto monopoly on open source software. the GNU/Linux monopoly on open source operating systems, which by design are a needlessly complicated pain to work with, and GNU's whole suite of bad foss clones of existing proprietary software, and on open source licensing, has (albeit far from single-handedly) severely compromised foss as a whole and set it back from innovating actually good software

    @nyx @mia @prettygood @scathach there may not be a true "escape" in the strictest sense of the term, but there is an incomparable difference between people who are wholly isolated or brainwormed by technological addiction and people who 'escape' that panopticon as much as possible. to help people move away from dystopian services and be protected from threat actors is objectively good and imperative

    @utz 100%. the dualism of rationality/irrationality is false. emotion, desire, passion, intuition, conscience, etc. all work together with logic and reasoning to form the combined process of rationality. without the former faculties, there is nothing to drive the latter. cold logic might be enough for mathematic calculations, but then what drives logic to calculate? and what applies those calculations into further action? rationalists may like to think of the brain as a bio-computer, or wish to become an artificial superintelligence of pure calculation, but it is desire that executes functions. try to define 'rationality' without those so-called 'irrational' faculties. you can't. it is defined as an absence. the absence of emotion, feeling, bias, and thereby the absence of experience itself. this is because the rational/irrational dualism is one of many dualisms that derive from the master/slave dichotomy. specifically, it is embedded in the masculine/feminine dualism, as it is patriarchy that decides (de- cide "to cut") the division of the two to justify its subjugation of the other. it does so exclusively by marking certain elements as 'feminine', as 'irrational', to cut off, leaving the remainder as the 'masculine', 'rational'.

    @nyx I've looked at prices before and they're not dirt cheap for me, not compared to literally free. maybe there are cheaper sources out there, but any cost is inaccessible to me right now. the reality is I don't have income. I can't afford rent or food, I've only gotten by this far from asking for money but now that's over too. diy isn't hard or scary, you're correct on that. it's not a factor in my case, I'm confident I can dose myself perfectly fine. I see blood tests as just an obstacle and think the standard level ranges are based on nonsense 'research' that's only there to set a limit so they can withhold hrt if it gets 'too high'. we do need to spread education on this for sure. silver lining is I think a lot of transfems have been waking up more and growing disillusioned with institutions, and those that are still domesticated are just one realization or conversation away from snapping out of it. maybe I'm in a consensus bias, but the material conditions are making transfem class consciousness almost an inevitability atp
