the House passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act" that would take away Medicaid and SNAP benefits from millions of people, while giving over a hundred billion more dollars to the military and ICE

@realpetrateal @nyx no idea what your IRL situation is but we all need to be forming meatspace networks with people (ideally middleclass cis people) who can order diy and people who can compound it, and all of this very much on the DL. it's a lot harder in places that aren't full of trans people but as things get worse and worse more people with privilege are going to realize that they have to throw in their lot with the lumpen.
the bigger problem is surgery. getting access to FFS and SRS has always been difficult, this is going to make it much worse.
we need to be actively building dual structure. social support, medicine, food, community defense. how this is playing out demonstrates that those of us who weren't doing so already (which is most of us, me included in a lot of ways) have been fucking up. from here on out, we need to recognize any dependence on cis society as a dangerous vulnerability that we have to work around.

@nyx I've looked at prices before and they're not dirt cheap for me, not compared to literally free. maybe there are cheaper sources out there, but any cost is inaccessible to me right now. the reality is I don't have income. I can't afford rent or food, I've only gotten by this far from asking for money but now that's over too. diy isn't hard or scary, you're correct on that. it's not a factor in my case, I'm confident I can dose myself perfectly fine. I see blood tests as just an obstacle and think the standard level ranges are based on nonsense 'research' that's only there to set a limit so they can withhold hrt if it gets 'too high'. we do need to spread education on this for sure. silver lining is I think a lot of transfems have been waking up more and growing disillusioned with institutions, and those that are still domesticated are just one realization or conversation away from snapping out of it. maybe I'm in a consensus bias, but the material conditions are making transfem class consciousness almost an inevitability atp

@realpetrateal I've been on DIY for years, it's dirt fucking cheap but there does need to be more organized networks for compounding and distributing HRT compared to the current situation. part of the problem is as far as I can tell most trannies are very domesticated and think that there's some kind of esoteric specialized knowledge that goes into compounding HRT and being on HRT without getting blood tests, but like, it's really not that hard or scary. a lot of people are just stupid assimilationists who need to wake up to reality and start taking shit seriously for their own sake and that of their sisters

@nyx absolutely. the problem is that official channels are the only option for those who are too poor for other channels. we need diy mutual aid networks

@realpetrateal I feel that but I also feel like this should be a wake up call for a lot of people that relying on official channels for access to HRT is kind of a bad idea and that we need to have the means of transition under our own control

@realpetrateal I've been reading about this today and wondering, assuming it passes the Senate, whether this will finally be enough of a breaking point for all the pent up riot energy I've been feeling or if nothing will continue to ever happen

@nyx if I or any trans girls I love are forced to detransition because of this, it will be the breaking point for me. at that point there would be nothing else to live for but vengeance against this fascist system exterminating us

@realpetrateal @nyx just remember, you can do a lot more damage by living for vengeance (actively) than dying for vengeance.
harden your resolve. it will be difficult but it's the circumstances we're forced into.
