May I say, as a #Christian and self-declared #conservative (in style of Burke, Oakeshott, Thatcher), that I am outraged whenever #TheOrange claims to be one of these. It is even worse when many of my brothers believe this living fraud. Lying, stealing, tax frauds, sexual escapades have absolutely nothing with Christian values, and if he now declares himself to be pro-abortion again, good for them, at least they see how they have given away their integrity for nothing.

@youronlyone That’s silly … say it to all those Pride & Prejudice fanfiction writers. Yes, they include P. D. James (“Death Comes to Pemberley” https://youtu.be/vGM-TWAbJHg) and many other very distinguished writers, but the community is otherwise undistinguishable from the HP one, for example. And yes, more stories are on Amazon, because they can. Still not enough difference to others.

@gbraad @matrix yes, I liked XMPP a lot (I have even a patch in ejabberd), but the harsh reality is that the bridges to WhatsApp, IRC, Slack, and possibly Telegram are necessity (and I would like also Facebook Messenger and Mastodon), and they do not work for Jabber.

@gbraad @matrix Right, so apparently €81/year per hosted #Matrix server on ossrox.org with unknown (probably none) bridges is probably the best I can hope for. Otherwise, 60+ CHF/month. Lovely. So, self-hosting seems to be the only viable option.
