@freequaybuoy @Daojoan This was my thought too. Defence spending now to face potential threats later is considered fine. But education now to benefit the next generation is seen as a waste. It's as though the politicians are less worried about _government_ costs vs reward and more interested in what will benefit _them_ in donations and lobbying.

@GossiTheDog Windows allows non-admin users to create any folder they want in C: \ ?
That seems like a pretty big security issue on its own.

@mcc Yesterday I wrote all of my Python code with semi-colons at the end of each line because I'd just finished working on a C project. The Python interpreter took it as an insult and refuses to speak with me today.

@janneke Perhaps. Though I'd like to point out we didn't "switch" to the fediverse. We didn't have an official presence on FB. Other people set up RSS feed reposting bots on FB and Twitter to follow us. (Someone did on Mastodon too.)
