DistroWatch@freequaybuoy @Daojoan This was my thought too. Defence spending now to face potential threats later is considered fine. But education now to benefit the next generation is seen as a waste. It's as though the politicians are less worried about _government_ costs vs reward and more interested in what will benefit _them_ in donations and lobbying.
