A law that should be made:

If you email a customer a set of terms via a docusign-type link, then it should be legally required that a copy of the signed set of terms is emailed to the customer, from the same email address, on the same date, with the same subject.

Not from a different email address, with a different subject, on a different date. And not "not at all".

There was a point where all the FUD about EVs was from people who proposed diesel or petrol as “much better than EV”. I think this is a waning trend.

However a new trend seems to be pushing hydrogen powered vehicles. Two different people, on a local group post about EV experiences, have pushed the notion that “BMW is giving up making electric cars”. This is transparent nonsense. But two different people have said it, and followed up with “wait and get hydrogen”.

It’s really weird.

It's maybe worse than "supportal". It's like management-types tried to synthesise "cute".

To be fair, the main promoter of it may be a part cause of my distain for it, as a word.

I am looking at a house which has a roof which would be suitable for solar panels. The roof is south (ish) facing, which is nice. However, there are some tall trees in the garden behind. In the Google Maps satellite view, the roof is *not* shaded, and in fact the shadows are a decent "gap" away from the house. But I'd rather know with a bit more certainty.

Does anyone know of a tool/web service/etc I could use to simulate shadow length? And/or just a rule of thumb? Or have any other thoughts?

This is the house roof, I've coloured in in red the top edge, which could easily support panels without much risk of shading, I think, but what about lower on the roof?

Unknowns: The time of day and time of year the imagery was shot. The height of the trees and building.

Today I crossed Whitchurch Bridge, which is near Pangbourne in Berkshire. Which is to say, I paid the toll, and drove my car across.

It's mad that in 2024, there's a private toll bridge. But also it's weird and cool. It was operated via an Act of Parliament.

There's a toll booth only on one side, so I actually crossed *then* paid. They do accept card/contactless to pay the 60p crossing fee.

But, £1 is charged to your card, then they give you 40p cash as change! Delightfully British and mad.

I honestly think they will all screw themselves here. Customers are fickle, and I suspect rather than everyone upping their subscription to the "ad free" and remaining every-month, people will flit between services, slicing the pie thinner. Every player will then have disloyal flighty customers. And it will have been all their fault.

Ah, good, they don't have a mobile number on file, so the bit where they send me the verification code to update my mobile number, they cannot do. So I can't update my mobile number.

It's almost like nobody ever considered this mode of failure, ever.

FWIW I *have* passed security, and they believe I am who I say I am. So.... (giant shrug)
