@evan Two things are true:

1. The Trump campaign wouldn’t hesitate to coordinate with Netanyahu. They are like-minded authoritarians.
2. Netanyahu has his own political reasons for prolonging the war. Whenever the war stops, he will face an election and lose. After he loses, he faces criminal charges.

Because of the second, I believe the first is inconsequential in this matter.

@anildash I was listening to Prince (again) this morning and realized his life is still a bit of a mystery to me. Is there a book or documentary you recommend?

I'm already planning on picking up the biography he was working on when he died, but from the reviews, it sounds like it might work best if coupled with another more traditional biography of some sort.

I have my annual ear infection. I want to tear my ear out of my skull.

Wherein I describe two phone calls with people whose sites have deep issues, tilt against React windmills, and trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries about the state of our industry.

My father passed away Thursday. I feel weird posting about it because most of you never met him.

But I talked a lot about his care over the last few years. People have asked about him and our family. So I know people who didn't know him have followed along. I always appreciated your concern and support.

He was a kind, funny, and generous person. He was a great dad. I miss him.

@evan Unless it is virtual, then it is extremely unlikely I can make it. Only my mom and I are trained to deal with my father’s trach. So one of us has to be here 24/7. Typically, I have the night shift. Makes it hard to get away for any length of time.

@evan I remember Foo Camp and the discussions about federated social networks fondly. That and werewolf.

I’ve been on vacation so I hadn’t kept up on the news lately. It just keeps getting worse. Musk not paying people, firing them right before Thanksgiving after saying no more layoffs, and planning to reactivate accounts that have been suspended for threats.

I had already substantially decreased my use of Twitter. Musk’s continued depravity means I cannot with good conscience contribute anything to that site.
