Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Nov-2024 04:23:46 JST Justine Smithies So on #FreeBSD #RiverWM doesn't build so far from source at the moment like it did under #Linux . I may find the missing package that I need or get help. Or maybe I'll stick with the pre-compiled pkg ?
The error I got is:
/home/justine/Git/river/.zig-cache/o/06b1e7dc1fc49d5f70f756116958d43b/cimport.h:4:10: error: 'linux/input-event-codes.h' file not found -

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Nov-2024 04:14:00 JST Justine Smithies So chuffed not that I have my usual #RiverWM setup with my bar made using #Eww and river-bedload plus various scripts. Even better that I'm now running it all on #FreeBSD !
I did cheat and use a pkg for river and eww when I usually just build river from source as I just did with river-bedload. I may give building river from their git repo a try next ?
Once again thank you to all those that have helped me and put up with my constant toots. ❤️

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Monday, 04-Nov-2024 03:48:18 JST Justine Smithies First toot from my NEW #FreeBSD setup
So far I have not been able to start #RiverWM correctly as it somehow doesn't use my config which is in the correct location and has the correct permissions. But I have got #SwayWM working for now and #QuteBrowser running which is progress. I have also changed my users shell to Bash from the default sh but I may return who knows ?
I've still loads to configure and work out though but I am a very happy girl to have gotten this far. #RunBSD -

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Friday, 18-Oct-2024 23:14:36 JST Justine Smithies Finally I have tracked down my #Qutebrowser issue that only seemed to mess with #DuckDuckGo search results returning an 400 Bad Request
It seems in my config.py I had the following user agent line.
c.content.headers.user_agent = 'Mozilla/5.0 ({os_info}) QtWebEngine/{qt_version} qutebrowser/{qutebrowser_version} Chromium/67.0.1'
I changed it to the same as #Firefox was using and bingo it all works !
c.content.headers.user_agent = 'Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:131.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/131.0'
Who's a happy bunny now.

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Friday, 18-Oct-2024 22:40:45 JST Justine Smithies Is it just me or this happening elsewhere on #DuckDuckGo ?
If I go to start.duckduckgo.com and then enter a search say #FreeBSD . If I then click on a result any of them I get the Nginx screen with 400 Bad Request.
Google works fine and other sites it's just #DDGIn conversation from snac.smithies.me.uk permalink Attachments

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Friday, 18-Oct-2024 22:40:42 JST Justine Smithies Nope no box named freebsd on my network. It doesn't just happen with that search term it can be any search term. I tried and get the same results.
For example I just searched Gargening and clicked on gardenersworld.com but get the same 400 bad request. The link I copied from that result is :
https://duckduckgo.com/l/?uddg=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gardenersworld.com%2F¬rut=duckduck_in
If I do the same from bing or google or whatever it all works. This just affects #DuckDuckGo for some reason ???In conversation from snac.smithies.me.uk permalink Attachments

Justine Smithies (justine@snac.smithies.me.uk)'s status on Friday, 18-Oct-2024 04:17:34 JST Justine Smithies [ RESOLVED ]
Any clever folk out there fancy helping me out by making me a 32x32 png ( No background ) mono image of the #Fediverse logo using the same colour as this image on my website ?
The reason is I'm going to update the footer on my site to point to my new #snac instance which is not Mastodon. So I thought the fediverse logo in the same style would be perfect. I cannot remember how I came about the other images in the same colour ? Searching about I cannot find similar matches.
The Fediverse logo for reference.In conversation from snac.smithies.me.uk permalink
