@mischievoustomato@fwc one point would be the chance of meeting interesting/funny people spontaneously even if you'll never meet them again. not everyone's the same, but many people love that potential for positive interactions about outside. many feel it's not happening or possible anymore in cities
@fwc@mischievoustomato depending on your age that may be completely normal. it's said third spaces disappeared entirely by the time zoomers would have come to enjoy them. One example of a third space would be a skating park, or any other hangout

イリエThe moment Trump takes common sense steps to help Americans being able to afford housing, and to make sure the military industry actually focuses on military products instead of peak profits, Leftist Reddit trash comes out of the woodwork to call it socialism. No. Socialism is a coherent ideology and framework with a certain purpose in mind. When actions of a government merely overlap with some 'methods' of Socialism but completely deviate from its reasons and its purpose then it cannot be Socialism. If anything, Trump engages in common-sense nationalism.
@luithe@Dubbub if you cannot separate the concepts of 'spics' as a race, 'foreigners flooding your country,' and 'other people just living in their own countries' then you shouldn't strain your mind by partaking in such topics
@Dubbub@luithe I can understand Elon Musk cheering this move on as he wants access to cheap rare earths, but for the dissident Right to cheer for Jewish wars just bcs 'military stronk' or 'muh ebil gommie' has to be a new low
strange UI bug where the left-end side of the column is cut off. never had this before, could be on my end, no idea @p Screenshot 2025-12-12 235942.png
@dcc that game rocked my world as a teen. I remember playing it on a cracked copy for two weeks straight, starting palythrough after playthrough. I would start on the normal difficulty or whatever it has, and then increase it for each playthrough, it flows well that way
@dcc I think it's worth watching. I mostly watched for the contextual reasons back in 2020 I think. It also used to play on TV when growing up, but I never watched it back then. Overall I do recommend watching it, with expectations in check perhaps? I don't know. Some people had crazy positive reactions to it, I never understood why, others less so. Me I think it's pretty good and an obvious turning point in anime history.
@dcc you know what's crazy, I recently started my first ever rewatch of eva and the past few days I've been seeing it everywhere. On TikTok, Twitter, people arguing about it, Yoko Taro tweeting the reception of his BluRay collection set of Eva, and now this. I'm not complaining, but it's interesting :catboythink:

イリエJust realized the 'shrinking population' debate (used to argue for more immigration) also fits into the Quality vs. Quantity framework. Modernity building on the bottomless pit of Quantity, devoid of essence, would of course eventually seek to replace its own people (a quality) for more numbers from wherever (quantity)
