I mean you don't need to understand everything in the Bible and I would even say very few people actually understand everything in the Bible perhaps certain church fathers or Saints did. We also need to keep in mind that the purpose and the point is not to understand everything in the Bible but the Bible is there in order to help us come to God, because God is the source of Truth and of Life and not the Bible. The Bible helps to guide us, and it was meant to guide us within the sacred tradition of the Church, the Bible is the written tradition and it was assembled and produced by the Church.
