In the Netherlands, there was an uproar that SIDN, the .nl domain registry, would move certain services to #AWS. As that circulated the parlieament intervened and a detailed research was done.

From my read, no EU cloud provider, neither #OVH, nor #IONOS or #HETZNER or #STACKIT is able or can compete.

Nevertheless, why do not all european based domain registries join forces?

Nach der Domain Registrar Challenge von @jwildeboer letztes Jahr will ich das Thema mal aufgreifen.

Denn ich finde keinen Registrar der alle Anforderungen erfüllt und preislich akzeptabel ist:

- Web frontend / Management Interface per #IPv6
- DNS API per #IPv6
- API mit Personal Access Tokens mit granularen Rechten
- NS Server per #IPv6
- DNSSEC Support mit eigenen Schlüsseln
- HTTPS Record Support
- E-Mail Forwarding Support
- vernünftige Registierungspreise
- EU based ideal DE

Mastodon gGmbH is listed as a partner of the #SocialWebFoundation!
The mission of SWF does not match, if not contradicts the purpose and object of the gGmbH.
In my point of view this is the beginning of "embrace, extend and extinguish" of #activitypub like we saw with #xmpp
