@privateger Only time I ever got one was when I somehow missed a sign and thought the zone was still 70, even though it was 50.

Otherwise I am always amused people that speed, but as soon as they see a speeding camera, they drop way below the speed limit. Like what do you think it will do? Catch you driving 30 in a 50 zone :neobot_confused:

I discovered Eurobeat music and I've been listening to one random mix I found on youtube on repeat for the last few weeks.

"Eurobeat mix for fast driving", also applies well to sitting in a train :neobot_giggle:

Holding today’s talk was quite a lot of fun.
I was surprised that we managed to fill the room, I definitely wasn’t expecting this much interest :neobot_happy:

Fitting all of this into 20 minutes wasn’t easy and many of the topics deserve more attention on their own. I‘ll keep that in mind and see if I can expand upon them at future events.

If you missed it, the recording is now available here:

@SuperDicq Bandcamp was already mentioned. Otherwise Qobuz has basically all music available for DRM-free purchase :)

@puniko @MiaWinter Already had that one on my radar. :3

Debating whether to add a salary transparency page to my website.

I hate how salary is barely talked about and how that creates opportunities for companies to underpay skilled workers.
I generally just tell mine, when someone wants to know or it’s relevant to the conversation for some reason. Don’t see why not.

And I’ve seen a few people just put that info on their website to help normalize having it out there. And it feels right to also do that because I like seeing it.

Yet I don’t know if that could have some unexpected side effects. I wouldn’t know any, but people on the internet often manage to surprise me.

Any thoughts on this, fedi?

@rachel Don’t know if this helps, but I documented how I install Cilium for my v6-only install:

https://jsteuernagel.de/posts/k3s-cilium-ipv6/

Maybe something there can help :)

@domi Every damn time I have to use the Pi GPIO I have to quintuple check which pin I actually need to connect to because of this mess.

It’s a small miracle I didn’t accidentally fry my Thinkpads BIOS chip…

@quinn

@domi Whhaaaattttt??? :ablobcathappypaws:

I mean, I already have public v4 and v6, so I'm pretty happy with that, but they keep rotating, which is kinda annoying.

But you are telling me there is a chance I could directly BGP peer from home??? And not have to directly interact with a shit ISP??? :ablobcathappypaws:

I love discovering personal blogs and websites.

No algorithm.
No competing anything.

Just a person, putting out what they want.

It's beautiful.

@MagicLike Ah, it's not supported, sad.
Mine doesn't have one, so no problems here.

Though I did replace the normal cooler with the cooler of the Nvidia model to get lower temps :D

@cwebber This looks absolutely sick.
A few weeks ago I already saw someone doing cool stuff with some AR glasses and now this.

Damn I want to do something like this so bad.

@icedquinn @Jain @privateger
Yeah, probably for the 16 bit ASN numbers. But if one doesn't have any reason to care, as I do, getting a 32 bit ASN through a LIR is nice and simple.

@icedquinn @Jain @privateger
Depends a bit on the LIR you use, I got mine through iFog, which seem to be well recognized and there it's now 77 CHF / year for an ASN + a /48 PA IPv6 prefix:
https://ifog.ch/en/ip/lir-services

There's also others like Servperso who do it for 100€ / year, but there it's also a /44 PA prefix:
https://www.servperso.net/ripe-ncc-lir-services

Maybe there's also cheaper options to just get an ASN from a LIR and find the prefix somewhere else. I know someone on Fedi gave away prefix for free to people.

An Ampere CPU would fix me :neocat_pleading:

@merlin @domi @dns I think I found a bottleneck in a dns stress testing tool.
The tool not withstanding its own stress test is very funny to me.

@merlin @domi @dns Found a tool that doesn't bottleneck after a while :ablobcatgooglytrash:

For science: https://tantalor93.github.io/dnspyre/

@merlin @domi @dns my 30000 reqs/ second have just slowed down to a meager 5000 / sec.
I want to make a performance complaint :ablobcatgooglytrash:

@merlin @domi @dns And I‘m learning about how to run the most possible DNS queries at the same time :troublemaker:
