I did it over years of both reading best practices, common tools and deploying it at work and at home
I probably learned more with the home cluster
I have some options as a result, mostly on the scale and what technologies to use and what to avoid
Not knowing docker might be a downside because docker is a less complicated way of running containers so you don't have that basis to fall back on for examples
@badnetmask@hachyderm.io lower power, decent core count, simple architecture (no P/E cores to cause weird edge cases), integrated GPU, and the AI thingy might be supported by Frigate NVR eventually?
There is a comparable Intel core ultra but that is Intel(-) and the P/E core mix might cause issues
So I was just at afternoon tea with some friends from work. One friend told how last week a co-worker took him aside and suggested he never mention the existence of his boyfriend at work.
I like my Forgejo+argo+renovate way of managing applications on Kubernetes but it also depends on your environment, how many applications and how many hosts. It also really depends on what you want to learn
So somehow, right before I went to bed last night, NFS ate shit hard
I can't recall it ever doing that but it managed to take out everything using storage in the primary cluster, and one k8s node needed a solid kick
Naturally this meant that my bedroom voice assistant did nothing when I told it goodnight, and the nightstand button did nothing as well. The bedroom lights are on weird outlits and can really only be controlled via homeassistant so I had to go kick things till it started working again
the NFS/Fileserver is probably the most long-term stable bit of tech, really not sure the cause of all of this
"But babe this shit is super reliable, this is a fluke, don't worry I can fix it" -said at 2AM while you pull out a laptop is the kinda shit that should probably result getting stabbed in the kidneys by a significant other
