re threads, can't you run a server in the US or is that a matter of getting approval from the company?

what is a summary is in this context. are there docs on how (for example) RSS terminology maps on to ActivityPub terminology?

we have title, link and description as the three major components of a post.

in general in RSS, by convention, the description can have HTML and the others, not.

is what Mastodon does considered enough to get compatibility with other Fediverse platforms?

are you testing with Threads, for example? are they following what Mastodon supports?

I am trying to enable federation on one of my sites, but every site I try it has a badge that says it's disabled. A screen shot..

@pfefferle -- what i ought to do is hook my writing tool up the wordpress and use it as a gateway to ActivityPub. what a service that would be. you already have a great debugged API and it's running at scale. this is exciting. ;-)

i just realized that with wordpress on the activitypub bus, you now have to deal with all the limits that imposes. or do you? users of wordpress expect to be able to use links and style, and put titles on their posts, and character limits are unknown.

as a writer and developer of communication tools this limit has been stifling. it's a barrier that would be wonderful to erase.

let me know if you want to help with this.

It would be great if we could make voting a party, a celebration, something to look forward to, not something you have to make time for. That would probably do more to improve the lives of all Americans than any other single thing. It's like the SuperBowl, the NBA Finals, Coachella or the Oscars, only better -- because we are the stars.

@pfefferle — interesting. I haven’t tried to federate anything with bluesky. Just trying to understand what it is and why it hasn’t been federated with yet. Thanks for the extra info and nice to hear from you. :-)
