Journalism doesn't come back from the election of 2024, any more than the Republican Party does.

I am looking for an RSS feed for @kamalahq, and have found a Mastodon account that is based on an RSS feed!

A new rule for journalists.

End the interview on the first egregious lie.

Turn the lights out, switch off the recorder, get up and leave.

And your report should state clearly that this is why the interview was terminated.

It never should have been tolerated in the first place.

For the DNC in 2004, we had a site called Convention Bloggers. It was a river of news feed reader, clearly done with Frontier, of blogs run by people who were at the convention.

Great wealth is poison, that's what's playing out in the NYT-orchestrated overthrow of the American government. They're driving us into the arms of the Nazis. Who knows why, or even if there is a reason, other than their to find meaning in their great wealth. Their problem, and ours is that it has no meaning, no human can use the money they've accumulated. This is a game of make-believe, what if we really were as smart as we think our money says we are. Well you ain't that smart.

You know those sites that make you turn off your ad blocker to read a story? Why not put a button there to give them $0.25 instead.

The Repubs can win by throwing the election into the House.

They can probably get it by the courts in enough places, just a couple of swing states, and they win even if they lose by normal vote-counting methods

The whole bit about Biden's age is meant to distract us from the fact it probably doesn't matter how old the Democratic candidate is.

Why journalists don’t bother trying to take Trump down, but do with the Democrat.

Simple. Trump has routed around journalism as we have begged the Dems to by going direct to the people.

The journos have no power over Trump and they know it.

They have total power over the Dems, and they know that too.

If by some miracle the journos let us (voters) determine the president, we must NEVER let them have this power again.

Heard an interview show on NPR where they went to laundromats and asked people about the upcoming election.

Big surprise they say pretty much exactly what they say on the news about the candidates, all of it bothsidesisms and no mention of the fascism coming our way if we go one direction.

It's all everyone's fault, so why bother voting, is mostly what they say.

SMH in disbelief.

This would make a fine campaign ad.

that's always how i approach these things. that's why i was so happy to see that you all supported outbound RSS.

but i want more connections between the two world. we're not done building.

they do have a feed btw, so you could meet them half-way by supporting RSS as an equal with ActivityPub.

there's lots of good stuff out there that's available in feeds that hasn't made it to AP yet.

btw, i am able to follow you in my feed reader, bc as you know Masto supports outbound RSS.

maybe you and i should work together to bring the two worlds together?
