I am positive that this author was unaware, when they wrote of beestings multiplying as one breaks open a hive.

TIL that "tin foil" is the predecessor to "aluminum foil" both physically and linguistically. The thin sheets were originally made from tin. The term "tin foil" has been retained, possibly because it's easier to say.
