I woke up to find my wife staring at her phone. As soon as she saw I was awake she excitedly told me about the responses she's made to posts about that were attacking supporters of a small local LGBTQ+ this morning.

Then she told me her autistic need for justice is really fucking strong right now, and went back to it.

God damn that is fucking sexy! I fucking love her. I am so fucking lucky!

My wife went through all the cabinets and drawers in our bathroom the other day, to pack for our move. She threw out a lot of things she didn't need any more, packed a lot, and left a pile of things of mine that she wasn't sure if I wanted to keep or not.

So, I went through the pile and found something rather unexpected. She saw a packet of temporary tattoos and assumed they were mine because she didn't remember buying them, but no. They aren't mine...

She ordered temporary tattoos of my face, and forgot about them! 😂

I feel like shit, but I'm heading to the gym anyway. I think today's workout music is gonna be some Rage Against The Machine.

I was in the middle of helping one of my kids install Linux while having this conversation 😂

That was the last computer running Windows in our house. They play a lot of games, so they had been scared to switch, but they are now successfully running Linux Mint, and installing their games as we speak.

@hellomiakoda I think a lot of us are asking questions like this. Our capabilities and skill sets all vary wildly.

I'm trying to figure this out myself. My first goal is to do everything I can to keep my kids safe, and then to figure out how I can help.

I'm honestly terrified, but I'm not willing to accept this.

I suspect that many of you who are #ActuallyAutistic like me also have a very strong sense and need for justice.

Today there will be a lot of injustice. Today is going to make me angry. Today is not okay, and I can't simply ignore it or try to find pleasant things to distract myself with.

I am glad for those who care but need to stay away and are able to. Take care of yourselves and do what you need to, please!

I need to feel this anger. I need to be mad that a fascist racist racist bigot has purchased our democracy to sell it to the highest bidders. None of this is okay, and I need to say that.

There is a soft mixer feature of pipewire that effectively leaves the actual device audio at 100% all the time and adjusts the volume in software instead.

That should (in theory) prevent that, but it would probably mean a bit more energy usage. I doubt it would be enough to measure though.

If you're interested I can find more details. I have it setup in my nixOS config for one of my devices that has some odd audio issues.

It isn't that intense for me luckily, but it is for my wife and in some cases it is for me as well.

It is really frustrating when you actually want to do something but that "nope" feeling has hit.

Yup. Give me a choice, and I'll consider it. Attempt to force me, trick me, or manipulate me into something and I will do everything in my power to ensure that NEVER happens.

Considering all the recent talk about violence against billionaires, it is important to remember that being a billionaire is a choice.

If someone is afraid for their life, they can simply stop being a billionaire by donating money to those who need it.
