Since November 5th, all the way through December 16th, for more than a month, you told everyone you did NOT know what was going on. Now, you claim it was all homeless private drones this whole time.
I work for Meta, I see thousands upon thousands of posts every hour, and let tell you, no one believe you.
1) They were tagged before my post concerning them 2) They were invited by, myself, to view my post history 3) They, themselves, admit they found my post as a result (which was a continuation of the 1st)
If you're not going to do your diligence, it is not my concern, but the OP did, and so this is not an issue. Furthermore, at their request, I make the exceptional effort to tag them going forward. That is going above and beyond.
@_elena@mastodon.social I’m not a journalist and I’m not being paid by anyone to promote the Fediverse. It is obvious you're not a journalist, and I never said or implied you were paid. Only that your would-be public inquire seems odd, since it does appear more promotional. I would have appreciated a tag and not a sub-toot to clear up things and engage in a conversation about thisI prefer transparency. I am not one to private message anyone to clear things up, and rather everything be out in the open.
Although, only speculation, I notice this individual seems less like a prospecting journalist, and more like an advertising placeholder.
They made a similar post two (2) months ago, even starting it as their introduction to the Fediverse (see screenshot).
I am not a journalist, or inspiring blogger, but I would presume in two (2) months time, the article would have enough shared options to go to story. I also find it odd that they praise Sharkey in both post, as oppose to giving no opinion, and just asking people what they think.
That said, when I was confronting Sharkey, while still hanging out in their Discord Server, I learned they do use alternative accounts to help paint their narrative.
Again, my theory is only speculation, based on my experience and dealings with Sharkey. It just seems to fit their track record. And if in this instance, I am wrong, I apologize, but would again, point out that this is something they (Sharkey Development) have done in the past.
In it (my post history), you will discover I once sounded much like yourself, praising and even promoting Sharkey. I would go so far as to say, I once used to talk about Sharkey, more than the Sharkey Development Team.
Then I learned, from experience, the downside of Sharkey.
For example, the development tricked its user base to donate 2,000+ for their own dedicated server, only to use that server as their personal computer (playing Minecraft), and four (4) months later taking that server offline, and brining it home as their personal PC. The "Join Sharkey" website was never brought back online, and remains offline, even today (except for an out of date Wiki hidden in a subdomain).
You will also note how toxic and hateful the Sharkey Development can be. Often spending a good portion of their time trolling users (especially anyone who calls then out on their nonsense or past exploits). You may even discover, whenever they are backed into a corner, they will claim you are homophobic. I again, invite you to see my post history, going as far back as May 30, 2023, when I first joined the Fediverse (I have always supported, equality and human rights).
There are many Fedi developments that embody the spirit of the Fediverse, and Sharkey is not one of then.
If you're wealthy in America, you have justice. If you're not wealthy in America, you have whatever the system calls justice at whim.
I hate to bring up his name, but Trump was an example of this. The man was wealthy and political, but the government did not want to act against him or even sentence him. It was all for show to give us the illusion of some symbolic justice. You or I, they would have locked us up years ago.
The CEO of one of the largest (corrupt), and wealthy Healthcare Instance Companies, full 100% dedicated resources to find and prosecute this person's killer. If this was you or me, who got shot, they'd get around to finding our killer (maybe), on their own damn time, if it wasn't easy.
After removing Windows Defender, for Anti-Virus, my 1st choice is indeed Bitdefender. There is indeed a free version, which is limited, but it is better than no protection.
I like to simplify things - sometimes over simplify things - so even the person who ate paste in school, growing up, can understand.
Usually, I find my method of communicating successful, but occasionally you'll stumble upon an elitist who likely lacks people skills and has not changed, even when Webster's dictionary has.
Windows ARM will work on pretty much any ARM based PC.
Android OS, like Windows OS, is still an operating system, but because of the hardware-specific nature of an Android OS, that is what makes them a ROM.
GrapheneOS, for example, has an independent release (ROM) for each Google Pixel, model.
@DarkJagger@xarxa.cloud@linkachus17@misskey.de That limitations maybe is a form to force you to pay a subscription or something like thatI do not doubt that, in fact, I suspect you're right. We already know Blue Sky is filled with trackers (uBlock and Privacy Badger spots many). So not only are they monitoring usage, they're generating a profile for future advertisement.
But ultimately, we know Blue Sky is a corporation, unlike the Fediverse. People invested money into the platform, and unlike the Fedi, it wasn't just so they could have a community - These investors are going to want a return on their investment, beyond just feeling good that they have a social media platform of their own.
That is the difference between Blue Sky and the Fediverse. People here, know it will cost them to run a server (Fedi instance), but do it anyway, because they're tired of all that nonsense. And people here donate to their admin, knowing that in doing so, we keep this place not only ad free, but corporate and government control free.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would truly make a good President.
If it is not progressive, it will be conservative. Most Americans want fundamental change, which why moderates are no longer electable. They're fed up being given the promise of change and the false hope of change, only for their elected official to do more of the same. If it is not progressive, it will be conservative.
On META, they're already talking about people like Ivanka Trump running for President. Kamala Harris being a woman is not what stopped people from voting for her (IN - before some says race was, and while that unfortunately was true for some, the majority couldn't care, thankfully).
The point, some of you are missing, is that most people want something more from their government than what they are getting now. They want to feel like their government is actually governing. They want to see that change in their lifetime, and not just be told their grandchildren may or may not benefit from it.
Will Donald Trump give them that? Oh, I have no doubt he will give us change that will impact millions in the here and now, but I know it will not be good change. But so many were looking for something different, that they were willing to take that risk. That is how big the need is for change. This is the picture some in political circles are not understanding. Business, as usually, is not what many Americans want, and they were willing to turn a blind eye and take a risky gamble, to avoid the status quo.
And if things don't work out, they'll try again. They have a lifetime of the same "snake oil" from the same type of people, and they're not going back. Kamala Harris at least got that right.
If it is not progressive, it will be conservative. America will either go left or go right.
Personally, I'm hoping for a left turn, else things will get much worse, and I don't blame all the voters. I blame everyone who stood in the way, whenever we had the chance to do so. In this, I am not alone.
Firefox is open source, but it includes adware, spyware, and artificial intelligence (AI), while being owned by an ad company. Brave is open source, but it too includes adware, spyware, AI, plus cryptocurrency, while being owned by an ad company. Both of them call out like a lost child or puppy. There are viruses that are also free open source, but they too do not make the world a better place.
Free open-source does not guarantee nor mean something is automaticly better.
Vivaldi, is based on the free open source Chromium project, and while it is true that the GUI is closed source, it does not include AI or cryptocurrency, nor owned by an ad company, and only calls out to 1) check for updates and 2) report bugs.
Good software does not need to be free open source to be good. Nor does close software automatically make something bad.
We have a lot of service providers and apps that make people "feel" safe, but do not guarantee safety. Safer, perhaps, but nothing should be presumed to be absolute.
