     @Linux A long time ago when #echelon and #carnivore and #totalinformationawareness were on my radar, I was a minor student of the alt.privacy faq. I don't think there's anything really much like that today.

     We have a lot of service providers and apps that make people "feel" safe, but do not guarantee safety. Safer, perhaps, but nothing should be presumed to be absolute.
