@iceloops @Alex @asa Yeah, I'm not sure what your mum has to do with this or why you are broadcasting this to the public timeline. I hope you can figure things out too so that you can have conversations with people without it devolving into this. If you catch yourself, it might be worth deleting what you have just written or moving it to a diary or word document for these thoughts if you need to put them down somewhere.

@Alex @asa @iceloops We usually contribute using what we can relate to I think. But it helps to change things up a bit. I haven't seen you being bad with this in my threads.
Mind you, I think there are some autists that really struggle with this. All they can seem to talk about is themselves and it is annoying because you end up feeling like a sounding board. Like you aren't even a person to them. It doesn't register to them to ask about how you are doing, to not make something about themselves when you are discussing your personal issues or daily life with them. You can't really have a conversation with them.

@iceloops @Alex @asa No, I have seen a few cases where it really is like they can't talk in any other way. I don't know what it is but they end up making the discussion about themselves and you can't bring it back to the topic at hand. I don't know how to describe it. But some people seem incapable of discussing other people, of thinking about other people if it doesn't relate to them in some way.

@iceloops @Alex @asa Why do people have to be happy about that? Most people on fedi won't know you, they will probably be indifferent to you at best.
Here is another thought, if you want to be accepted as yourself then you'll have to accept that other people may find you insane because that is their opinion. That is them being themselves, having their own thoughts. You cannot control that so you are better off letting them be and doing your own thing. Focus on what you can control which is yourself.

The best way to get someone to leave you alone is to not respond to them and they will usually move on because there is nothing to respond to.

I just accepted it but asking if you are sorry is a legitimate question in this instance because just saying sorry doesn't demonstrate that you understood what I was saying.
