I have this setup and its rather neat. With HDMI-CEC you can use your TV' built in remote in some cases too. -

Surströmming (selfhost arc) (xian@ak.kazuma.family)'s status on Monday, 03-Jun-2024 20:30:15 JST Surströmming (selfhost arc) @sun yeah, the system itself if you are going to buy the games is one of the most expensive ones. There is a MVS build you can do since the AES is even more expensive that lands you below 350~400€ for a working system with a flash cart, but you'd have to be a real fan to front that money for one anyways. -

Kiiiinda regret it, but at the same time if I would get an arcade board it would probably be a Neo Geo MVS. -

Surströmming (selfhost arc) (xian@ak.kazuma.family)'s status on Monday, 03-Jun-2024 20:10:25 JST Surströmming (selfhost arc) @sun @graf I bought the 5X because it also doesn't drop it when switching. I actually bought it specifically for that and because it was the best scaler to handle 480i at the time. (PS1 and PS2 is the main usage). -

Surströmming (selfhost arc) (xian@ak.kazuma.family)'s status on Monday, 03-Jun-2024 20:07:12 JST Surströmming (selfhost arc) @sun @graf I have a R5X and its really good for its intended purpose, but for retro computers its rather lacking. It does look amazing on my LG C1 so can't complain other than that.
