@xian if the retrotink-4K can do 25khz horizontal VGA, I'm buying it (5x-pro cannot)

@graf @xian people were freaking out that it costs 750USD but it functions as a normal HDMI upscaler and that is roughly how much money all upscalers used to start at. We live in a good time for this kind of stuff.

@sun @xian there's way worse ways to spend 750 tbh

@graf @xian I do have a 4K TV but it's in the bedroom not the game room. In the game room I have a now-ancient HDTV that I specifically bought because it has ultra-low input latency.

@sun @graf I have a R5X and its really good for its intended purpose, but for retro computers its rather lacking. It does look amazing on my LG C1 so can't complain other than that.

@xian @graf the 4K model apparently can switch resolutions instantly so there's not a bounce or picture dropout like on older upscalers.

@sun @graf I bought the 5X because it also doesn't drop it when switching. I actually bought it specifically for that and because it was the best scaler to handle 480i at the time. (PS1 and PS2 is the main usage).
