We have more than the fascist populists and socialist populists. There are plenty of liberals and even some conservatives.

However, the two populist extremes have far more in common with each other than with the more moderate people closer to them.

The socialist populists are legitimately socialist. Many are unapologetically communist. And all are authoritarian.

In their defense, some of the more prominent socialist populists, such as Bernie and AOC, loudly supported Biden, at least at the time. So if they went after Tlaib, the rest would defend her and the DNC would look bad.

There's an obvious lesson here: America is bigoted so we're not going to win by running "minorities".

Yes, Obama won, but the backlash ushered in Trump. Likewise, Clinton was absurdly overqualified but for her lack of a penis. Harris had the same defect.

But we won with Biden. And, of course, we would have again.

Agreed, but the thing to remember is that Trump isn't an otherwise-good candidate held back by the ravages of age.

He's an absolutely terrible candidate -- both unqualified and disqualified -- and his senility makes him less dangerous, not more.
