@SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo@sun@shitposter.world Other people have pointed out how they don't fit within Fedi's main circles, but I feel that art communities in general are more vibrant the more people there are. Misskey.io (excluding loli slop) has such nice art because it has one of the only large art communities on Fedi. Twitter was a major art hub at the time due to the sheer amount of artists to find there, and Bluesky is emerging to do the same because it also has a lot of artists. Meanwhile, though there is also a lot of talented artists on Fedi, too, thereare no large art communities that newcomer artists can safely sign up for.
@sun@shitposter.world It's unrelated to the new Mac, but I can't bring myself to trust Marques Brownlee anymore. He betrayed his audience once with the "Panels" app, and perpetuating the trend of Youtubers promoting such scams just further exposes how much monetization has ruined Youtube. :neofox_thumbsdown:
@david@hollow.raccoon.quest Even with many states passing vital human rights propositions (Missouri legalized abortions, New York passed an Equal Rights Amendment) and even the first trans woman finally becoming a Congresswoman, I'm still prepared to leave for Canada. I just cannot when so many more Americans voted for the 79-year-old sleepy Trump anymore. :neocat_sad:
It works really well, has good security, is mostly open, and is hella convenient - KeePass never really worked under Librewolf back when I mained it, and it's not cloud based, too (screwing over anyone with multiple devices) - Proprietary password managers in general make me shit myself ever since the LastPass leak
@Jain@blob.cat@1ts0nly4stro@blob.cat Both seem more active in my experience, though. I regularly posts from labyrinth.zone users, and kitty.social regularly has multiple people at once :drgn_think:
@SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo@dansup@mastodon.social Can't really expect to see someone who named their software after a highly common term to also be a bit more creative with their branding :blobfox3c:
I don't want to be harsh on those devs, honestly. It's just that the increasing enshittification of the largest platforms highlighted how people should just ... abandon certain bad habits entirely. Fedi is indeed great for public communication, and we absolutely need a real Youtube alternative (No, Odysee and Peertube are complete non-starters), and Raddle actually seems okay for communities even though I don't really use it. The rest, though, just feels like mindless shit to me. You absolutely don't need Tiktok to watch Tiktoks, who gives a fuck about Snapchat, Netflix should have kept being a monopoly, and the media was fucking overdosing on coke thinking BeReal actually represented a healthier social media. :neocat_thumbsdown:
@david@hollow.raccoon.quest Eh? Why not at least use this chocolate bar for something like pancakes or muffins? It would be much more bomb, considering food like these will at least fill you up :blobfoxconfused:
@sneexy@lea.pet@rat@brain.worm.pink What provider, tho? - Daviddd uses and likes https://bytehosting.cloud, but it doesn't seem to have pricing data on backups - Gabboman recommends OVH for cheap VPSes, and it offers manual backups for only $1.20 extra, but I don't know how good it'll be compared to the more expensive automatic backups it also sells - Hetzner almost murdered a Fedi community and fucked over many, many others before it - Contabo (what I'm using rn) has shit uptime, a 2000s-era control panel, and backups are a painful hidden cost
@meso@the.asbestos.cafe Misskey and its forks otherwise work very well (I'm too used to it), but MRFs ineed is one of Pleroma's biggest W's. I should make a pull request for implementing them on Misskey.
@icedquinn@blob.cat@maia@crimew.gay I remember tiny housing becoming a trend around the 2010s. Some of the tiny houses look bomb, and I personally aspire to follow many minimalist principles (Get only what should spark joy in you, avoid the trap of consumerism and thus wastefulness), but the fun ended when tiny houses also got unsustainably expensive. :neofox_sad:
Hey!I'm Poppy Farbird, a queer (she/they) furry artist who wants to work with technology and the admin of Citrus Plaza. Specifically, I both create artworks of anthros (though they are on my other account) and boost other artists' fascinating works. For technology, I try to integrate open-source projects the best I can. I have Linux on my gaming PC, use software like Codium, Onlyoffice, Krita, and such, and sometimes promote these projects to others. In the future, I also want to support them financially and through commits in their codebase. I'm also trying to get into things like web design and animation. Anyways, it's just nice to be in the Fedi, which has one of the best communities on the internet.
