@dansup can you *please* for one minute stop pretending you're god's gift to the fediverse and see this from other user's and server operator's perspectives.

@dansup you claim it's open, and everyone's free to use another app (or server). But think about it - people who aren't experts on the Fediverse will just search for "Pixelfed" on the app store, and get the official app. And without knowing they have to click the settings button to select another server, they're locked into the default.

The freedom doesn't mean much if the UI makes it so damn convoluted to pick the server of choice.

Gotta love having to give our users instructions on how to log in to our Pixelfed server. What a brain dead UX decision.

@dansup @pixelfed one more hopefully very quick question - is it possible to have the server send an email to admins when a new user account is awaiting approval with Curated Onboarding turned on like Mastodon does?

@pixelfed @dansup I've got a problem that has just about driven me crazy trying to diagnose. Our Explore page doesn't work, despite being enabled. Dev console just shows a 403. Any ideas where to look? There's nothing obvious I can see in the diagnostics page or Horizon logs.

@cyrus oh FFS. I was considering moving to @protonprivacy, but if they have drunk the gen AI kool-aid, then I'll need to reconsider.
