Interesting 🧐

A Russian data center gets drone sanctioned and the number of cat pictures and Linux posts on the #Fediverse stays the same

Very interesting indeed 🤔

@takosix I got you bruh

It is absolutely glorious weather outside right now. 25°C, sunny, light breeze, 33% (!!) RH

I feel like we deserve this after putting up with a month of sogginess ☀️

People are like “we can’t put the genie back in the bottle!” but someone got the genie in the bottle previously, so… 🤷

Grim. Three lions died of heat stroke at a Tokyo zoo.

The zoo had taken measures like installing additional fans, but it wasn’t enough.

Dr. Ms. FoC speculates that it seems the zoo assumed since lions can survive 40°C in the wild, they’d be fine in Japan, but they didn’t fully account for the difference between dry savana heat in the shade vs. Japan’s hot humid hellscape.

Won’t someone think of the second home owners?? 😭 😭

I want to get a new air quality sensor for indoors (temp, humidity, air pressure, CO2).

I looked at some to buy but then I saw something about making one.

Is this a good idea or will it be harder than it looks?

Was looking at ESP32 controller, SCD41 sensor (CO2), BME280 sensor (temp, humidity, pressure), but I’ll probably need to look closer to make sure I get the right parts. Any recommendations on places to get parts like this?

I love wacky limited time products, but I don’t think I can do the Toy Story melon cream soda granola

I just can’t

Me, speaking in English: So-and-so wants macha (まちゃ) powder for o-miyage

Ms. FoC: huh??

Me: Macha (まちゃ)

Ms. FoC: wtf are these strange noises coming from your facehole

Me: Macha (まちゃ), like green tea

Ms. FoC: 抹茶 (まっちゃ)??

Me: yeah. Jeez.

Ms. FoC: how am I supposed to understand that?? Macha (まちゃ) and 抹茶 (まっちゃ) are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Macha (まちゃ) is incomprehensible and no one would understand it!!

A potential corporate client wants to have a meeting, in person, about the translation services we can provide.

First of all, it’s 2026. Can we please just do a Zoom call? 😩

Second of all, there’s really not that much to talk about. You have something in one language. We put it in another language. Ugggggggggg

So many questions

11 am or pm?

Is this a good thing or bad thing?

Does it include incidentally encountered eggs like onsen tamago in ramen, or is it just breakfasty eggs?
