Sheesh! There were a lot of #archlinux updates this week. Well, weekly patching is done and I am back up and running.

@FlashMobOfOne I know that not all boomers are of that sort. Simply taking the bus and seeing seniors in poverty proves that point. So I have to be careful but the vast majority of dealings that I've had with the middle class ones have not been positive. I'll include my father in that.

I know I risk ageism and lumping all people of one generation into a single category, but my general experience with the Baby Boomer generation has not been a positive one. This morning I had someone argue with me that conservative values are not necessarily fundamentalist ones. In my mind, conservatism and fundamentalism are one and the same.

It's been a productive morning. I had my interview for Section 8 subsidized housing and all went smoothly. It looks like I will probably be able to move in by the end of next week.

The reality has sunk in that I will be moving soon. I'm really anxious about all I have to do in so short a time. 🙃

@breadandcircuses That's right! The system isn't broken at all. The system is designed to benefit those at the top at the expense of those at the bottom.

Finally a piece of good news! My name came up on a waiting list for subsidized housing. I have the in-take interview on Monday at 10.

When will everyone wake up and realize that corporations are neither our friends nor our saviors. Why do so many look to corporations to solve the problems that the very corporations created?

When I get home, I am going to try out a feature of Cloudflare that will let me access my home network remotely. I read up a little and I am curious.

@FlashMobOfOne I don't know that I'll be able to do it everyday. My goal is 2-3x per week to start.

Here's my Cannondale R1000 Aero just out of storage. She's dirty but once cleaned and tuned, I'll be exercising again. Hopefully, with regular exercise, I'll be able to decrease the mental health meds I have to take.

@preslavrachev I think that the powers that be are afraid of the #fediverse because it's decentralized and cannot easily be controlled, manipulated, etc. This is probably a move to try and thwart #mastodon. Hopefully it will be unsuccessful.

I am thinking of shutting down my #mastodon instance and moving my account to an instance not run by me. I don't know though. As much as I like the control that running my own server provides, it it takes some daily care and feeding.

@FlashMobOfOne 30-40 Bernie's in power would mean a huge paradigm shift in the US. It would be great but the wealthy would never allow it.
