The whole Fediverse would be a better experience if we had real control over our accounts. Not having to depend on an Admin/Mod team to do it for you, if they happen to agree it’s a problem. Let me lock the replies to my post. Let me block servers full of bad actors. And I mean really block them, not just mute them the way user side blocks work. But we can’t have any of that because all the devs think we should be Twitter. You see how well that’s working out.
@BeAware I have noticed his sudden shift into becoming a photographer. Really makes you question where all the Mastodon Nonprofit money is going to, doesn't it?
@BeAware That ends up falling back to bad moderation which dot social is known for. Just one of the millions of reasons why dot social being the default choice for the Mastodon app was a horrible idea. I advocate for people to leave dot social all the time.
@BeAware I think there are instances that are okay with replyguys and other harassers. But because they tend to be “too large to defederate from” they keep getting a pass because “we can’t punish all the people that aren’t doing anything wrong.” I think a lot of the problems on Fedi could be solved by letting the user turn off replies. PixelFed is working on that now and I’m hoping it’ll trickle to GlitchSoc soon.

I never understood why people would literally pay so much money for a plain white tee just because it has some logo on it. That's definitely being corpopilled.
Imagine this: You're the Alt Text Pirate Queen of #RadioFreeSociety, and you've just discovered the ultimate treasure map to inclusivity! 🏴☠️
You know what's totally uncool and ableist? 🛑 Shoving your own needs above others and telling blind folks to just "deal with it" 'cause you don't have the energy to jot down a simple alt text. Newsflash: No one’s asking for an epic saga about the color purple. Just a wee little description so everyone can join the fun! 🖼️
And it doesn’t stop there! Another treasure chest full of ableism is harassing people who gently remind others to add alt text. Seriously, drop the superiority anchor—it's weighing you down and ticking off this Pirate Queen! 👑
So, from the high seas of inclusion to all you scallywags out there: Lay off the ableist shenanigans and let's sail towards a more accessible horizon together! 🌅
Fair winds and inclusive vibes, Alt Text Pirate Queen Emeraldas. 🌊⚓
Despite all the changes, Manifest V3 is still limiting certain capabilities. The developer of uBlock Origin listed some of these on GitHub. According to the information, current uBlock Origin capabilities such as dynamic filtering, certain per-site switches, or regex-based filters are not supported by Manifest V3. The release of uBlock Origin Minus highlights this. It is a Manifest V3 extension, but limited in comparison to the Manifest V2-based uBlock Origin.
Witnessing the blood-red fires of a volcanic eruption on Earth is memorable. But to see molten rock bleed out of a volcano on a different planet would be extraordinary. That is close to what scientists have spotted on Venus: two vast, sinuous lava flows oozing from two different corners of Earth's planetary neighbor.
