   To those who have been harassed on Fedi recently, how does it compare to other platforms?

   Most notably, X?

   And, in your opinion, where is the failure in Fedi moderation?

   Does the problem lie with your instances moderators not taking care of the harassers?

   Or do you think, overall, that its a fundamental issue with the software?

   I've been very frustrated with the lack of Mastodon moderation tools for a LONG time and would like to see others opinions on this super important issue.

     @BeAware I think there are instances that are okay with replyguys and other harassers. But because they tend to be “too large to defederate from” they keep getting a pass because “we can’t punish all the people that aren’t doing anything wrong.” I think a lot of the problems on Fedi could be solved by letting the user turn off replies. PixelFed is working on that now and I’m hoping it’ll trickle to GlitchSoc soon.

     @BeAware That ends up falling back to bad moderation which dot social is known for. Just one of the millions of reasons why dot social being the default choice for the Mastodon app was a horrible idea. I advocate for people to leave dot social all the time.

     @BeAware I have noticed his sudden shift into becoming a photographer. Really makes you question where all the Mastodon Nonprofit money is going to, doesn't it?

     @BeAware@social.beaware.live @x00001@corteximplant.com Is it possible that maybe he’s letting other folks work on it and distressing and living life? As someone that built the monolith that is Mastodon, and next steps will just alienate him from different groups?

     I get your point, and I think he does want Mastodon to be first among many, I think things like moderation are going to take a while to bake before they implement it. I do not think any of the forks have implemented it either?
