Actually I think he missed and this kinda makes sense. Nobody does neck shots other than the twinks I pick up. I think he was either aiming chest or cranium, but missed lucky and still landed a fatal blow.

It's possible to assess whether the fragments seem to have come from a 30-06 round without being able to specifically analyze which rifle it was fired from.

Even if custom, that's just way faster than necessary. It'd fuck accuracy all to hell. No reason to do it, if you ask me. If you want the benefits of rotational energy downrange, something like 8.6 blackout makes way more sense. And it can be subsonic and suppressed really well. Way easier to get away with it.
